The Apple Vision Pro, the first spatial computing device, was unveiled in June at the WWDC23 developer conference. Vision Pro is not a new product for Apple CEO Tim Cook but also marks a significant turning point in his tenure. The much-anticipated product is about to enter mass production.

According to Jiemian News, Apple intends to begin formal mass production of the Vision Pro in December of this year. The initial supply batch is expected to be around 400,000 units, with sales targets of one million units for next year and ten million units for the third year.

As for the supply chain, the Vision Pro differs significantly from the iPhone 15 series. According to data, the supply chain for Vision Pro in China has reached around 60%, and the hardware cost is anticipated to be $1,700.

According to supply chain speculations, Apple will offer four second-generation Vision Pro models, including a high-end model and another more affordable model. Apple wants to cut the price of the Affordable Edition in half compared to the original iteration.

The second-generation proofing is planned to begin in the second quarter of 2024, with an official introduction in the second half of 2025. Furthermore, Apple is developing AR glasses at the same time.

The original Vision Pro took more than five years to create, and the second generation was developed considerably more quickly and is expected to be in scale production within one to two years. Despite its technological merits, the first generation $3,499 price tag turned off many customers. As a result, the release of a less expensive variant has become an obvious decision for Apple to enter the XR smartphone market.

Foreign media have also stated that Apple wants to release the Vision Pro for between $1,500 and $2,500, implying that it would be the second generation of the model, an inexpensive variant.

The first-generation Vision Pro costs $3,499. The device is scheduled to be available in the United States in early next year, around March-April, while the time and international price have yet to be revealed.

iOS 17.1.2

According to an international media outlet, MacRumors, the rising number of logs indicates that Apple decided to release the iOS 17.1.2 version upgrade this week.

Customers reported Wi-Fi connectivity issues with iOS 17.1.1 and minor faults with push notifications, HomeKit, and other functions.

Furthermore, there is a problem in the iOS 17 system that causes various issues on the iPhone, and the iOS 17 system can crash because of a sequence of specified activities. It is also conceivable that this flaw may be addressed in iOS 17.1.2.

It is also worth noting that Apple is currently testing iOS 17.2, which has been in beta for nearly a month. This edition includes the Notes app, support for spatial video recording, translation options for the iPhone 15 Pro, security measures for iMessage contact key verification, and clock and weather widgets, to name a few new features and changes.

The official release of iOS 17.2 is scheduled for mid-December.
