Apple released the iOS 17.1.2 update, fixed security issues, and recommended installation for all iPhone users.
Apple released the iOS 17.1.2 official update to iPhone users early this morning, with iPadOS 17.1.2 and macOS 14.1.2.
Because it is a minor update, iOS 17.1.2 mainly focuses on known faults and security flaws rather than introducing new features. The update package is roughly 400MB (depending on the model), and the build number is 21B101.
According to Apple’s update notes, iOS 17.1.2 primarily contains critical security patches and is recommended for all users to upgrade.
This iOS 17.1.2, according to the security documentation, addresses two critical WebKit vulnerabilities uncovered by Google’s security team. One of the flaws allows an attacker to achieve the highest privileges on iOS by injecting malicious code into a web page, and the other may disclose sensitive information in the web page’s content. According to reports, these flaws may have affected users of iOS 16.7.1 and older versions.
Previously, some iOS 17 customers experienced unreliable Wi-Fi connections and disconnections, as well as problematic push notifications, HomeKit, and widget functioning. Although Apple did not specify if and regardless of whether these vulnerabilities were corrected in the update notes, several customers reported that the Wi-Fi issue had been resolved and that notification push was back to normal.
I noticed that my WiFi was recently disconnecting and sometimes my network was so bad until I felt upset to use an iPhone, lol.
This remark, however, requires confirmation from others.
For the update suggestions, iPhone owners using iOS 17 should upgrade to version 17.1.2 as soon as feasible. Although there are no new features in this version, it is critical to correct the flaw and defend the web from assaults (albeit this is improbable).
You can use the iOS 16 if you still haven’t updated to iOS 17. To obtain the most recent features on newly introduced models, such as the iPhone 14 series, maintain the system updated for at least a year or two.
It’s worth noting that Apple is currently testing iOS 17.2, which can offer additional new features and tweaks. This update contains a new Notes app, iPhone 15 Pro Spatial Audio and Video capture, action button translation choices, and unique notification sounds ranging from bounce to tritone.
iOS 17.2 is likely to be released in mid-December.
