An INSANE surprise for MacBook users ✨🧨, Apple is working on an iOS 17.1.2 system upgrade, and the iPhone 16 Pro will include a periscope telephoto lens.
According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is considering installing its own 5G baseband to the upcoming MacBook Pro in order to get cellular Internet access.
Apple has been working on a 5G baseband since 2018 in an attempt to wean itself from Qualcomm processors, but the development process has been difficult, and the newest rumor says that Apple will not release an iPhone with its own 5G baseband until 2026. In the future, Apple may integrate baseband into its M-series SoC processors, allowing the MacBook Pro to browse the Internet directly over LTE or 5G signals.
However, this function is still in the works, and it is unclear when it will be made available. If development goes smoothly, it might be included in the MacBook Pro as early as 2028.
2. iOS 17.1.2
According to MacRumors’ website analysis log data, Apple appears to be testing the iOS 17.1.2 version upgrade internally, and this data indication has properly anticipated the impending iOS version release several times in the past.
Apple published iOS 17.1.1 two weeks ago, which mostly resolves small bugs. Similarly, iOS 17.1.2 is likely to concentrate on addressing existing concerns.

It’s unclear which flaws will be resolved, although some users have claimed that iOS 17.1.1 still has Wi-Fi connection issues, while others have mentioned minor errors relating to push notifications and HomeKit, which may be fixed in iOS 17.1.2.
Although iOS 17.1.1 addressed the iPhone 15 by utilizing certain BMW wireless charging difficulties, this patch appears to have generated a similar problem for GM, and iOS 17.1.2 may cure it once again.
Apple may not release any system upgrades this week due to the Thanksgiving break. As a result, iOS 17.1.2 is scheduled to be released next week.
At the same time, Apple is testing the more critical iOS 17.2 version. This update will include a new Notes app, support for spatial video capturing on iPhone 15 Pro models, action button translation choices, iMessage contact key verification, and more weather and clock widgets. The formal release of iOS 17.2 is scheduled for mid-December.
3. iPhone 16 Pro Quad Prism Telephoto
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has confirmed that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, both due out next year, will use a quadruple reflex prism telephoto lens.
This quadruple prism telephoto lens is used for the first time in this year’s iPhone 15 Pro Max, providing a 5x optical zoom. However, because to internal space constraints, this technology did not make it to the iPhone 15 Pro, and only the Pro Max has adequate capacity to include this type of hardware. According to Kuo, lens supplier Dali Optoelectronics began with only 40% of the quadruplex reflecting prism hardware for the iPhone 15 Pro Max in the third quarter of 2023, but has recently boosted production to more than 10%.
Apple intends to raise the screen size of the iPhone 16 Pro to 6.3 inches in order to accommodate a bigger lens assembly. Apple appears to have addressed the old barrier of employing a prism lens solely on the Pro Max with the increase in size and productivity.
It is unknown whether Apple will update this quadruple prism telephoto lens in 2024. Apple is reported to be developing a “super telephoto camera” with a larger focal length, but specifics are limited.
